About Jack Gulley

My name is Jack Gulley. I will be a 2025 graduate at Cypress Falls High School in Houston, Texas where I am an active member of the National Honor Society, Student Athlete Leadership Team, HOSA Club for Future Health Professionals, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the baseball team. I was named Defensive Player of the Year for Pitching on the Junior Varsity baseball team during my sophomore year. I am consistently on the Distinguished Honor Roll, taking honors and dual credit courses. I have earned straight A’s since 6th grade to present. I plan to pursue a medical career, with the hope of combining my love of sports and medicine in the future. I started playing baseball when I was 3 years old and have loved every challenge and opportunity baseball has provided me on and off the field. Currently, I am a starting pitcher and first baseman for my high school team and my summer travel baseball team, Houston Heat. I have also spent many seasons playing 3rd base. This past Spring, I trained to be an umpire and was a volunteer umpire for Larry Dierker’s Champs, a little league for economically-disadvantaged boys – stressful, but fun to see baseball from another angle. Formerly, I played the euphonium in the marching and concert bands, and offensive line for football until a broken arm caused me to reconsider football and commit 100% effort to baseball. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out and playing basketball with my friends, spending time with my parents, grandparents and aunt – and even my maltipoo Henry, traveling with friends and family, experiencing and learning to cook a wide variety of food. Family traditions I love include attending Opening Day Astros baseball each year with my dad, and attending Jimmy Buffett concerts with my parents each time he came to Houston. I enjoy taking on new adventures and challenges and can easily make friends with a wide variety of personalities. I am focused on good nutrition and eating well, and enjoy regularly working out to improve my health and performance. I am excited about the upcoming Spring baseball season and doing my part to get our team to the play-offs again.
